Jack Tapper of ABC News reports that according to an anonymous DNC official, Hillary Clinton will have to pull a Tonya Harding on Barack Obama.

She will have to “break his back,” the official said. She will have to destroy Obama, make Obama completely unacceptable.

“Her securing the nomination is certainly possible – but it will require exercising the ‘Tonya Harding option.’” the official said. “Is that really what we Democrats want?”

Mmm… what a way to isolate Democrats…

UNICEF has a new project that aims to raise money to provide fresh and clean water to needy children in a clever way.

According to the above clip (from UNICEF’s channel), all the major New York City restaurants caught on, as well as hundreds of others. Basically, you go out eat, but pay a minimum of one extra dollar, which reportedly gives a child 40 days of clean H₂0.

Good idea.

The New York Sun reports on mounting fears in regard to the safety of Pope Benedict XVI and those around him on his visit to America next month, aggravated by Osama bin Laden’s accusation of the Pope’s “new Crusade.”

“When I heard the thing about bin Laden, I thought, this isn’t good,” Father Robert O’Connor of the Blessed Sacrament Church on the Upper West Side said. “It could stir up some wacko who wants to get attention.”

Spokesmen for the police department and the United States Secret Service, the two agencies that will be spearheading what is expected to be an enormous security operation when the pope arrives in the city April 18, wouldn’t say directly whether Mr. bin Laden’s message raised any red flags regarding security and the pope’s upcoming visit.

We know we won’t be getting Clinton in the White House with Obama in the Naval Observatory, but what about the other way around?

Would Hillary Clinton accept being on the bottom of a ticket, when she was touted her “inevitability?” I think not. Sorry, but just cannot see this woman agreeing to be the running mate of a man once considered the complete underdog and twelve years her junior. Clinton has never really accepted not being in charge, and that’s why she is running for the White House.

It would just be such a step down for her. While a boost for many, accepting the spot of the Vice President would be severely detrimental to Clinton’s future political ambitions and her image among Clintonites. Just imagine the person once set to be the continuation of the Clinton Dynasty accepting the number-two spot of a two-term Senator, whose personality is different from hers in so many ways.

As for a position in Cabinet, that might be an entirely different possibility…

The Huffington Post and the Associated Press report that Hillary Clinton is “undecided” about whether to accept an invitation to a North Carolina CBS debate on April 19, three days before Pennsylvania and 17 days before North Carolina’s primary is held. After attacking Barack Obama prior to Wisconsin for not accepting enough debates, does this hint that the Clinton camp is unsure if they will continue after Pennsylvanians go to the polls? To avoid possible embarrassment, will Clinton decline? All of these signs are very telling of “wariness of defeat” within the Clinton campaign, and politicians are jumping ship or just avoiding it all together before the rocking sinks it. Ann Sanner of the AP writes:

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said Monday that the campaign has not made a decision about the CBS debate and is still working through the details.”I am quite confident that there will be additional debates and that we will work with networks and the Obama campaign to figure out the appropriate location and venue and media outlet,” Wolfson told reporters on a conference call.
